SCSU COLLEGE REPUBLICANS ENDORSE TIM HERBST FOR GOVERNOR

TRUMBULL — GOP gubernatorial candidate and former Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst announced the endorsement Monday of the Southern Connecticut State University College Republicans.

“I am incredibly proud to be winning the support of so many young Republicans and conservatives from around our state who agree we need a new generation of leadership to upend business-as-usual in Hartford and save our state,” Herbst said.

“As a 37 year-old running for the state’s highest office and hoping to raise a family in this state, I know how daunting the lack of opportunity seems for young people trying to stay and build a future here in Connecticut,” Herbst continued. “That is why I am so passionate about fighting to restore prosperity to our state.”

“As President of the College Republicans at Southern Connecticut State University I am thrilled to announce we have endorsed Tim Herbst for Governor,” said SCSU College Republican President Sarah O’Connor. “Being a Connecticut college student, and a Republican, I believe we need a new generation of leaders to save our beautiful state. Tim Herbst is the future of our party and will be the one to bring stability and reform to Hartford.”

“Tim Herbst is the former First Selectman of Trumbull where he achieved the same kind of growth and reform on the local level that we need on the state level,” O’Connor continued. “Connecticut residents need to come together and elect a real problem solver as our next Governor. As a young conservative I want someone who is young and filled with motivation as my next Governor.”

Tim gives hope to all young conservatives wishing to run and start a career in public service,” O’Connor said. “I am proud to endorse Tim Herbst to be the next Governor of Connecticut, he has the experience and determination to fix our state.”

SCSU College Republicans are the second College Republican group in the state to rally behind Herbst in the last week. Herbst announced the endorsement Thursday of theĀ CCSU College Republicans.
