TRUMBULL — GOP gubernatorial candidate and former Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst announced a new slate of 10 new endorsements Tuesday, bringing his total roster of public support from current and former GOP officials, party leaders and party committees to 104.

“I am honored and humbled to have the support of more than 100 incredible Republican grassroots leaders who believe it is time to elect a new generation of leaders to upend business-as-usual in Hartford,” Herbst said. “Our campaign continues to generate momentum every day as Republicans agree we need a proven reformer and Hartford outsider to lead our party to victory in November and restore prosperity to our state.”

2014 GOP Nominee for State Comptroller Sharon McLaughlin

“Tim Herbst not only understands the financial crisis that our state is facing, but will lead by example,” said 2014 GOP nominee for State Comptroller Sharon McLaughlin. “Tim is passionate and knowledgeable about the corrective actions that are needed to move Connecticut in the right direction.”

North Haven RTC Chairman James X. DiCarlo

“Tim Herbst has what it takes to return Connecticut to a first class state for businesses and families,” said North Haven Republican Town Committee Chairman James X. DiCarlo. “Tim will bring a no-nonsense approach to solving the budget crisis that has gripped the state for the past eight years under Democratic rule.”

“I have watched Tim’s passion since first meeting him during his run for State Treasurer in 2014,” DiCarlo continued. “He has established a sound track record in Trumbull and is ready to assume the enormous burden of re-building our state. Tim will be a 24/7 Governor with the energy and knowledge needed to restore our state. I fully endorse Tim Herbst for governor.”

Woodstock First Selectman and former State Rep. Mike Alberts, District 50

“Tim is the best-qualified candidate, based on my experience as a legislator and Woodstock First Selectman, to serve as our next Governor,” said Woodstock First Selectman and former State Representative Mike Alberts. “He has what it takes to lead Connecticut forward.”

Salisbury RTC Vice Chair Vivian Rockwell Nasiatka

“I am supporting Tim for governor because of his executive experience as the former First Selectman of Trumbull, along with his clearly defined plan to restore Connecticut’s once outstanding fiscal rating and to institute tax and regulatory reform policies that will give all businesses the opportunity to prosper,” said Salisbury RTC Vice Chair Vivian Rockwell Nasiatka. “Tim talks the talk and walks the walk and cares about Connecticut’s citizens, including state employees and state retirees. Most importantly, he loves our State and U.S. Constitutions and will uphold both of them as governor.”
