NORWALK, CT — Trumbull First Selectman and Republican gubernatorial hopeful Tim Herbst campaigned with GOP candidates for local office in Norwalk over the weekend.
“It is absolutely essential for our party that we continue to maintain control of a majority of cities and towns where voters can see first hand how Republican policies lead to better outcomes for taxpayers,” Herbst said.
Herbst isn’t seeking re-election in Trumbull this year and is instead focusing his efforts on the governor’s race.
“I have been out all over the state in recent weeks lending my support to local GOP candidates because it’s the work they do that keeps our party strong, demonstrates the strength of our policies to local communities and that builds our bullpen for future state leaders,” Herbst said.
Herbst has campaigned for candidates in Stamford, Trumbull, Tolland and Groton recently and plans to campaign in two more towns before the Nov. 7 election.
