TRUMBULL — GOP gubernatorial candidate and former Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst announced 12 new endorsements Monday from current and former Republican elected officials and party leaders, bringing Herbst’s total number of endorsements to 77.

“I am overwhelmed by the growing number of tremendous leaders of our party who are joining our campaign to upend business-as-usual in Hartford and restore prosperity to our state,” Herbst said. “Republicans across every corner of Connecticut are rallying behind the idea that if we are going to win in November and bring real change to Hartford, we need to nominate a proven reformer and Hartford outsider with a track record of winning tough elections.”

State Rep. Kevin Skulczyck, District 45

“Today, I am proudly announcing my support for Tim Herbst for Governor,” said State Rep. Kevin Skulczyck (R-Griswold). “Given the challenges facing Connecticut, I believe the type of leadership Tim brings to the table is needed now more than ever.”

“Tim is not a Hartford insider and isn’t controlled by special interests,” Skulczyck continued. “He will put hardworking Connecticut taxpayers first and has a clear plan to course-correct our state. I look forward to working with his campaign.”

Former Middletown Mayor Seb Giuliano

“Tim is the Republican candidate for governor who best demonstrates the kind of fearless leadership that will be required to upend business-as-usual in Hartford and turn Connecticut around,” said former Middletown Mayor Seb Giuliano. “Now is the time to put our trust in a new generation of leadership. Tim is a proven reformer and Hartford outsider who will be a champion for hardworking taxpayers.”

Windham Board of Education Member and Former Candidate for State Senate John French

“Tim is the only candidate in this race that is able to do what needs to be done in Hartford, said Windham Board of Education member and former candidate for State Senate John French. “He understands that we need to win at the local level to make the kind change that is necessary in our state.”

East Windsor Board of Education Member Kathy Bilodeau

“I am pleased to offer my support and endorsement to Tim Herbst for Governor of Connecticut,” said East Windsor Board of Education member Kathy Bilodeau. “I believe Tim has the experience, knowledge and ambition to turn our state around. He understands the financial situation our state is in, and I believe he can turn it around the same way he successfully did in Trumbull as First Selectman.”

“Tim has the tenacity to tough it out, to stand the course and he isn’t afraid of tackling the hard issues. He has asked us, ‘who can we trust to get Connecticut back on track?’  I believe we can trust Tim Herbst!”
