TRUMBULL — GOP gubernatorial candidate and former Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst announced five new endorsements Monday from current and former Republican officials and party leaders, bringing Herbst’s total number of endorsements to 82.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled by the trust 82 Republican leaders have placed in me to lead our party to victory this November,” Herbst said. “Our campaign to defeat Gov. Malloy’s chosen successor in November, upend business-as-usual in Hartford and restore prosperity to Connecticut continues to gain momentum every day.”

“Our state needs bold leadership to change the way Hartford does business and to turn things around,” Herbst continued. “I’m a proven reformer and Hartford outsider with a track record of winning tough elections and with the drive to do what is needed to restore prosperity to our state.”

Enfield RTC Chair and GOP State Central Committee Member Mary Ann Turner, District 7

“There are times you have to stand up and be counted and today I will do that for Tim Herbst,” said Enfield Republican Town Committee Chair Mary Ann Turner. “The 2018 gubernatorial race is vitally important for Connecticut and the choice is clear: we need Tim Herbst as our next governor.”

“Tim has the spunk and initiative that is sorely lacking in our state government,” Turner continued. “Tim understands the big picture and realizes that in order to fix the bureaucratic mess in Hartford it will take a laser focused, decision-making individual who has a long range plan for serious change.”

“Tim is clearly the right person at this time for the job and will provide the people of Connecticut a compelling vision,” Turner said. “I stand with Tim because it is time for real change.”

Stamford RTC Chair Fritz Blau

“Tim understands not only what it takes to fiscally manage a municipality but also how to get a team to all pull their oars in the same direction,” said Stamford Republican Town Committee Chair Fritz Blau. “He’s a true leader and I’m proud to give him my endorsement for governor.”
